Malaria-stricken girl dies due to doctor’s negligence in Sahibganj, steps can be taken

Sahibganj News: The inquiry report into the death of malaria-affected girl Goddeen Pahadin alias Gomdi (6) at Sahibganj Sadar Hospital on Monday was submitted by the team formed by the civil surgeon on Thursday. In the report, the team blamed the negligence of two doctors of Sadar Hospital for the death of the girl.

Dr Shahbaz Alam did not see the girl.

The inquiry report states that Dr Shahbaz Alam, posted on emergency duty on September 9, did not see the girl during the emergency. He also failed to properly manage the girl’s treatment. This shows his negligence towards duty.

Doctor declared the girl dead at OPD

sahibganj Dr Mohd Farogh Hasan, posted at the OPD of Sadar Hospital, declared the girl dead after seeing her but did not record anything about it in the register. The team also wrote in the investigation report that Ali Raja treated him for 3 days at Raj Medical located in Mahadevganj. However, he does not have any medical qualification.

Dr Shahbaz Alam said he had undergone an autopsy.

It is also mentioned in the inquiry report that Dr Shahbaz Alam said in writing that he was on emergency duty on September 9, but that between 1 and 3 pm he went to perform post-mortems on three bodies. The patient did not come during this period.

The girl was found dead during the investigation at 2:30 – Dr. Hasan

Dr Farogh Hasan has said in writing that when the girl was brought between 2.00 pm and 2.30 pm, she was found dead during examination. The investigation team includes Dr Kiran Mala, district leprosy prevention officer, Dr Ranjan Kumar, DS, and Dr Mahmood Alam, medical officer in charge of Sadar.

The investigation report of the team of officers is also ready

In the same case, DDC Satish Chandra, Additional Collector Raj Maheshwaram and Sadar SDO Angarnath Swarnakar, who were part of the team formed on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati, also prepared the inquiry report. The inquiry report will be sent to DC in a day or two. This inquiry report also speaks of negligence on the part of both the doctors, sources say.

FIR filed against Raj Medical owner

On the request of Borio medical officer Salkhuchandra Hansda, an FIR was registered against Mohd Ali Raja, owner of Raj Medical Hall, at Jirwabari police station in connection with the death of a girl belonging to the Pahadia tribe who was suffering from malaria. The application mentions that the inquiry committee constituted in the case of the girl’s death conducted an on-site investigation on Wednesday evening.

Ali Raja’s role in the investigation is dubious

In the investigation, the role of Mohd Ali Raja was found suspicious. Mo Ali gave her wrong treatment for 3 days due to which the girl’s condition worsened. It is mentioned in the application that the innocent Paharia tribe is cheated and treated there without any valid title.

Demand for legal action against Mohammad Ali Raza

The complaint has demanded legal action against Mohammad Ali Raza. Station House Officer Anish Pandey said that on the request of the Borio Medical Officer, an FIR has been registered against Mohammad Ali Raza under Section 105/106 (1) BNS, case number 147/24.
