1. Collect fresh Durva grass: Select 21 strands of fresh Durva grass. Make sure that the ground is clean and that no one has stepped on this sacred grass. They do not have roots. To make a garland, there should be 3-5 knots (small leaves) on the doob.

2. Take a strong thread. Cut a 20-25 inch piece depending on the length of your desired garland.

3. Weaving Durva Grass: Take 2-3 strands of Durva and wrap them around the thread. Tie a simple knot to secure them. You can also thread one or two Marigold Champa flowers in between.

4. After adding all the grass strands, tie both ends of the strand together to complete the garland.

5. Your Durva Mala is ready to offer to Lord Ganesha!
