Two members of a gang of thieves jailed

Rep, Khunti: Police arrested two more members of the gang involved in robberies in the city and sent them to jail on Thursday. Among the arrested accused are Nitin Nayak and Ajay Nayak, residents of Khunti Mahadev Toli. The police have recovered the stolen television from them. SDPO Varun Rajak gave this information in a press conference. He said that the accused have accepted their crime. He said that he and his associates used to commit robbery incidents. Nitin Nayak was involved in the robbery incident at a locked house near Jatan Jewellery, Karra and Torpa Road Chekanaka. Among the arrested accused, one Raj Nayak alias Reeza Nayak is still at large. Four members of the gang, Bittu Nayak, Mayank Nayak, Mithu Nayak alias Kartik and Sonu Mahato, were sent to jail on Wednesday. Khunti Police Station In-charge Mohan Kumar, Sub-Inspector of Police Nitish Kumar Gupta, Mantu Kumar, Augustine Lugoon and armed forces were involved in the arrest of the accused. People caught attempting to steal were jailed: Police on Thursday sent accused Neeraj Verma to jail, who was caught by local people and handed over to the police on charges of stealing from an under-construction house on Karra Road Navatoli. At the instance of the arrested Neeraj Verma, the police recovered the stolen copper wire and items used in the theft. SDPO Varun Rajak said that the accused confessed to the theft.
