2024 International Emmy Awards The International Emmy Awards ceremony will be hosted by actor and comedian Vir Das, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced. The International Emmy Awards will be held in New York City on November 25.
This time, Das, who was previously nominated for an International Emmy in the comedy category in 2021 and won the award for his Netflix comedy special Landing in 2023, will be the host. He is the first Indian host of this prestigious event.

Vir reacts to the presentation of the 2024 International Emmy Awards
Vir expressed his happiness at the opportunity to host the Emmys, saying: “I’m so happy to host the International Emmys. It’s a prestigious night to support creators around the world who I believe are creating their best content. I know firsthand how life-changing it can be,” he said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Vir added: “Thank you for your support, I am an Indian Emmy presenter. I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! It’s crazy! Thank you for having me. I am incredibly honoured and excited!”

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan commented on her achievement, “Wow. That’s amazing. So well done.” Apoorva Mehta also wrote, “This is amazing! Congratulations @virdas!” Bipasha Basu also joined in with the clapping emojis. Zoya Akhtar said, “Of course you are.”
Actor Dia Mirza said, “This is absolutely amazing.” Shweta Tripathi also commented, “Wow, this is absolutely amazing! About Actor and Comedian Vir Das
Vir began his career performing as a stand-up comedian at various venues across India. A combination of comedy specials, live performances and roles in Bollywood films like Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone and Badmaash Company contributed to his popularity.
Vir starred in Judd Apatow’s The Bubble and is currently working with Andy Samberg and CBS Studios on a single-camera comedy. He also plays the lead singer of the comedy rock band Alien Chutney in India.
For his special Vir Das: For India, Vir was already nominated for an Emmy in 2021. For his Netflix special Landing, he was awarded in 2023. In addition to performing stand-up comedy, Vir Das has developed, produced, and starred in several television shows, including Jestination Unknown on Amazon, Hasmukh on Netflix, and Whiskey Cavalier on ABC.
