IIT Kanpur may take over responsibility for JEE Advanced 2025, Career News

The announcement of JEE Advanced, the most prestigious engineering entrance exam in the country, is proposed in October. Before this, the schedule of JEE Main may be released in the second or third week of September. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency, while the responsibility of conducting JEE Advanced lies with any old IIT. If we look at the pattern of conducting exams in the last 14 years, this year this responsibility may lie with IIT Kanpur. It is known that the number of students appearing in JEE Advanced is increasing every year. In 2024, the highest number of 1 lakh 80 thousand 200 students appeared for the exam as compared to the last 12 years. For many years, the JEE Advanced exam is being held on the last Sunday of the last week of May. In such a situation, JEE Advanced is possible on 25th May in the year 2025. Last year, in 2024, the Advanced exam was held on 26th May.

IITs have conducted entrance exams for admission to IITs under different names. Till 2012, this exam was conducted under the name IIT-JEE and from 2013 till now, it is conducted under the name JEE-Advanced. In the year 2011, the responsibility of conducting IIT-JEE Advanced and preparing for the exam is vested in the same IIT on a rotation basis every 6 years.

As per the data, IIT Kanpur conducted IIT JEE exam in the year 2011 after which IIT Kanpur conducted JEE Advanced after 6 years in the year 2018. In such a situation, IIT Kanpur can conduct JEE Advanced exam in the year 2025. Apart from this, JEE Advanced was conducted at IIT Delhi in the year 2012, IIT Delhi in the year 2013, Kharagpur in the year 2014, Bombay in the year 2015, Guwahati in 2016, Madras in 2017, again IIT Kanpur in the year 2018, Roorkee in the year 2019, again IIT Delhi in the year 2020, in the year 2021, IIT Kharagpur, again in 2022, Bombay, again in 2023, IIT Guwahati and again in the year 2024. 2024, IIT Madras conducted the exam and paper.
