New Delhi: Hamza bin Laden, son of Osama bin Laden, is alive and running the terrorist organization Al Qaeda with sinister plans. Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the attack on the World Trade Center in the United States on September 11, 2001, was killed by US Navy SEALs in May 2011.
Now, a report claims that Hamza bin Laden, who is believed to have been killed in 2019 by the Central Investigation Agency (CIA), is still alive as he survived the attack. Not only Hamza but also his brother Abdullah have joined the terrorist group to expand their terror network with sinister plans for the future. Hamza, who has taken over as the head of Al Qaeda, is now trying to revive the terror group.
Who is Hamza bin Laden?
According to the United Nations Security Council, Hamza bin Laden was listed on 28 February 2019, pursuant to paragraphs 2 and 4 of resolution 2368 (2017), as being associated with ISIL or Al-Qaida for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing, or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, on behalf of, under the name of, or in support of” Al-Qaida “and” recruiting for and otherwise supporting acts or activities or indicating association with “Al-Qaida”.
UN Security Council adds Hamza bin Laden to terrorist list
Hamza bin Laden, son of Osama bin Laden (deceased), was officially announced by senior al-Qaida leader Aiman Muhammad Rabi al-Zawahiri as an official member of the group, the UN Security Council said.
In March 2018, bin Laden issued a statement through an al-Qaeda media outlet, citing al-Qaeda’s role in the Arabian Peninsula, threatening Saudi Arabia and calling on the population of the Arabian Peninsula to revolt. In January 2018, bin Laden released a video on behalf of al-Qaeda, denouncing Saudi Arabia and calling for the overthrow of the monarchy in an effort to recruit viewers for al-Qaeda, the Security Council added.
The UN Security Council added that in May 2017, bin Laden released an audio message, also on behalf of al-Qaeda, urging his followers to carry out attacks. “In 2016, al-Qaeda released another audio message from Hamza bin Laden threatening revenge against the United States and warning Americans that they would be targeted in the United States and abroad. In addition, in 2016, bin Laden urged tribes based in Saudi Arabia to join with al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen to wage war against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the UN body said.

Hamza is reportedly trying to set up new training camps in Afghanistan, especially after the Taliban took control of the country.
- Training camps are being reactivated to launch attacks against the West, including the United States and Britain.
- The group is also deepening its relations with the Taliban to gain support for its terrorist activities.
- Hamza’s brother Abdullah has been tasked with strengthening the Al Qaeda network through a powerful terrorist dynasty led by his family.
