1. Hormonal changes and family causes also occur. Scalp acne occurs when pimples appear on the scalp or hairline. Acne is caused by increased sebum or oil production, the buildup of dead skin cells, and dirt in the hair follicle.

2. Hair care routines that put extra stress on the scalp, such as wearing hats or tight haircuts, can make existing acne worse.

3. Folliculitis, a condition in which hair follicles become inflamed, can be caused by bacterial infections. Pimples on the scalp can be especially painful due to this irritation.

4. Bacterial infections can lead to folliculitis, a condition in which hair follicles become inflamed. This inflammation can make scalp pimples especially painful.

5. Compared to other areas of the body, the scalp usually receives less air, especially when you wear hair or a hat. This creates a warm, humid atmosphere that encourages the growth of bacteria and the appearance of spots.

6. Scalp acne pain is more due to the nature of the scalp skin.

How to prevent pimples on the scalp:

1. Use a gentle, non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic shampoo to wash your hair regularly to remove excess oil, dirt, and product buildup. Avoid harsh shampoos, which can deplete the scalp’s natural oils and cause excess sebum production.

2. Sweat can mix with dirt and oil and lead to clogged pores and acne. To keep your scalp clean, try to wash your hair as soon as possible after exercise or in hot weather if you sweat a lot.

3. Combs, brushes and head accessories, such as hats or pillowcases, that could contain residue from products that come into contact with the hair, should be cleaned frequently to keep oil and bacteria off the scalp.

4. A diet rich in vitamins and minerals promotes overall skin health. Foods rich in zinc, vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce inflammation and promote clear skin.
