Uttarakhanda popular tourist destination, is currently on high alert due to a series of landslides along major routes leading to the revered Badrinath temple. The incessant rain has caused landslideThe landslide caused a serious safety hazard for pilgrims and tourists as it blocked roads in Barrage Kunj, Sonala, Nandprayag and Lambagad, ANI reported.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed in the affected areas to clear the debris and restore connectivity. However, the situation remains difficult due to constant rains and poor terrain. Authorities have advised pilgrims and tourists to exercise caution and avoid travelling to Badrinath.

Chamoli Police Police have been implementing safety measures by stopping commuters at safe places due to ongoing landslides. Meanwhile, the water level of the Ganges River has reached the warning mark at Rishikeshcurrently at 293.15 cm, just below the danger level of 294 cm.

He India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts in southern Uttarakhand and an orange alert for other regions. Travellers are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.
