Connectivity will be the basis of the country’s development in the 21st century: Governor

Governor Raghuvar Das said that today is a day of happiness for the people of Odisha. Indian Railways has launched two Vande Bharat Express. So a new revolution of development has come. I am happy to be a part of this programme. So the number of Vande Bharat trains passing through Odisha will be increased to five. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Railway Minister for operating two Vande Bharat Express from the steel city of Rourkela. Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat started in September last year. Now Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat has been started to connect the Steel City with the City of Joy. In the 21st century connectivity will become the basis of development of the country. Speed not only improves and facilitates the standard of living but also strengthens the development of the nation.

Tourism and trade to get a boost in Silk City: Mohan Majhi

Lauding Prime Minister Modi’s vision, Chief Minister Majhi said that India has emerged as a leader in infrastructure development, where 140 million citizens are moving towards a developed nation. He said that Brahmapur holds great significance as a prosperous city, famous for its silk saris and commercial hub. He expressed hope that tourism and trade will get a boost in the region due to the Vande Bharat Express. Chief Minister Majhi said that the Central Government has announced eight more trains with an outlay of Rs 20,000 crore in the recent budget. Majhi appreciated Prime Minister Modi’s commitment towards the development of Odisha. He said that the Modi government has allocated Rs 1 lakh crore for railway infrastructure and has approved projects worth over Rs 70,000 crore. These initiatives will increase the efficiency of the state’s railway network.

If we want development, we will have to make sacrifices: Jual Oram

Union Minister Jual Oram said the BJP twin-engine government is committed to developing the city’s railways. In Rourkela, too, work is going on on the third and fourth lines, including the clothesline. But as soon as the Railways start functioning, opposition starts too. But if we want development, we will have to make sacrifices too. Here, too, negotiations are underway to build a coach factory. Land is needed for this. The slums in the remaining area are being removed and rehabilitated to convert them into urban housing. Why can’t this happen in Rourkela? RSP is also not willing to give up land for the airport. How will development work be done in such a situation? He thanked the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister for starting the second Vande Bharat Express from here. However, he said that this train should start from Rourkela instead of Howrah and should open towards Howrah in the morning and reach there in the evening, only then it will be beneficial. They will draw the attention of the Minister of Railways to this.

Vande Bharat Express will leave Howrah at 6 am

South Eastern Railway AGM Soumitra Majumdar said that there was a programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to Tatanagar to flag off six Vande Bharat Express trains. But he could not reach Tatanagar due to bad weather. Due to which he flagged off six Vande Bharat trains from Ranchi itself in virtual mode. In this, two Vande Bharat Express trains will run between Brahmapur to Howrah and Howrah to Rourkela. Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat will leave Howrah at 6 am and reach Rourkela at 11:50 am. This train will leave Rourkela for Howrah at 1:40 pm As far as the Bimalgarh-Talcher track project is concerned, this track belongs to East Coast Railway. So I cannot comment on this.

Rehabilitation of those displaced by the railway project is also necessary: Sharda Nayak

Rourkela: Rourkela MLA Sharda Nayak said that the Railways are working hard to develop railway facilities in Rourkela city. We welcome it, but houses of the poor should not be destroyed in the name of development. If someone is being displaced by a railway project, they should also be rehabilitated. The Sundargarh MP has been made a minister at the Centre, so under his leadership, there will be cooperation in the all-round development of Sundargarh and Rourkela district, we wish for that.
