Following this, the minister had demanded a total of 13.50 lakh houses for the next year. Then, on June 19 this year, for the financial year 2024-25, the department again sent a letter to the Rural Development Ministry requesting to set a target of construction of six lakh houses. A target of 8.43 lakh houses has been requested to be set by adding the demand of six lakh submitted this year and the total number of 2,43,903 houses specified in the Ministry’s letter.
