New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology announces scholarships for Indian students worth over NZ200,000

New Zealand The Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST) has announced study abroad scholarship for Indian studentsScholarships will be available for those students Enrolment in the first year of a full-time programme in New Zealand by 2025. NZIST announced the scholarships at an event hosted by the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi. According to the official announcement, the scholarships are worth over NZ$200,000.

According to the official circular, students do not have to specifically apply for a scholarship. Te Pūkenga’s business divisions will select scholarship winners from eligible students who submit an application to study at their chosen institution on or before 25 October 2024.

As for the eligibility criteria, the student must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application, hold current citizenship of India and not be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia, among others. Students can check the details at New Zealand Scholarship on the official website: tepūkenga.ac.nz.

Eligible programs for the scholarships include agrotechnology, applied health sciences, aquaculture, architecture, biotechnology, construction, computer systems, digital technology, engineering (various specializations), food technology, information technology, marine conservation, nursing, quantity surveying, veterinary nursing, and viticulture.

Ziena Jalil, Chief of Staff at Te Pūkenga, New Zealand’s Institute of Skills and Technology, said: “In a rapidly changing world where science and technology are central to our lives and a major agent of transformation, we need more people skilled in these important fields.”

“The New Zealand Science and Technology Scholarships are part of our commitment and contribution to supporting Indian students to access globally recognised qualifications, backed by industry best practices, in fields with high demand for talent,” he added.
