RiddleRiddles have long been a fun and engaging way to challenge the mind. They make you think outside the box and push you to consider alternatives to what might seem like the obvious answer. Whether you’re an avid puzzle solver or just love a challenge, riddles are a great way to exercise your mental muscles. Today’s riddle challenge will have you questioning your assumptions.

Today’s riddle was shared on Threads user @denis_holdings with the caption: “Who is the burglar?” The teaser includes an image of four snow-covered houses, each with a car parked in front of them. Text embedded in the riddle reads: “A robbery occurred on a snowy day and all four suspects claimed they were home. Only the burglar was lying. Who is the burglar?” The names of the four suspects are: Alex, Ben, Rick, and Maria.

You have to solve the mystery just by looking at the photo.

“The thief wasn’t any of the four suspects so they’re all telling the truth,” one Threads user commented. Another person wrote: “Alex doesn’t have snow under his wheels so it’s probably him. Rick didn’t get the shovel out, he stayed inside. The car lights were on so it could be Ben. But Maria is a woman. Lock her up.”

Another person suspected: “He continued: Unless it can be shown that all four driveways were cleared at approximately the same time, the amount of “more snow” under the car than on the driveway cannot be used as proof of absence. Snow accumulated on the driveways cannot be used as proof of Rick’s absence during said snowfall.”

Who is the thief for you?

Why should you solve puzzles?

In addition to providing entertainment, puzzle games have several cognitive benefits:

  • Improved problem-solving skills: These require you to think critically and explore different possibilities. This can translate into better problem-solving skills in everyday life.
  • Increased mental flexibility: Puzzles challenge your assumptions and force you to shift your perspective, helping you develop a more adaptable and flexible mind.
  • Improved Memory: Solving puzzles regularly can improve memory retention, as you often need to recall information and apply it to new situations.
