Last night was the second Emmys of the year (last year’s first were held in January). The red carpet trend reports are in and one thing that’s shining everywhere, literally, is metallic silhouettes. Some looks hit the mark and some didn’t. But regardless, here’s a look at the standard-bearers of the latest trend taking center stage.
Nicola Coughlan
The summer of 2024 focused on Nicola and Luke Newton’s whirlwind romance. Bridgerton romance, which rightly captures the attention on the screens. Although Bridgerton The season is over and Nicola has made a public comeback as she walks the Emmys red carpet, ready to host the night.

Also following the same summary to some extent, it was Hannibal Star Gillian Anderson wore an all-silver Emilia Wickstead square-neck ensemble with a hint of ruching offsetting the texture. Gillian let her dress do all the talking as she wore minimal accessories, sporting only diamond drop earrings and a metallic clutch.
Quinta Brunson
If this line of metallic looks were competing for first place, Abbott Elementary School Quinta Brunson clearly left the rest behind. The actress, who made a strong case for metallic silhouettes beyond the obvious silver holography, wore a strapless mermaid-style gown by Georges Chakra. The details of the lifted bust, the fitted bodice and the dramatic fin-like sweeps closer to the hem were tinted a cool metallic black. Very on-trend, Quinta’s dress also featured two statement satin bows, an ode to the eternal flirt mania sweeping the fashion world.
Ella Purnell
Radioactive dust Actress Ella Purnell went for the Gatsby vibe, choosing a silver Rabbane dress. The plunging neckline was finished with halter-style strap detailing. She continued the retro aesthetic with sparkly tassel earrings, a perm and blood-red lips that completed her look.
Special mention: Christine Baranski
The second Oscar de la Renta dress on this list, The good fight Star Christine Baranski’s gold ensemble deserves an honorable mention. The reason? The satin dress with scattered floral prints enveloped her muse in such a way that it gave the illusion of being another specimen of metallic attire.
