NTA i.e. National Testing Agency releases the schedule of various examinations including NEET, JEE Main, CUET UG, UGC NET, CUET PG every year for admissions for the upcoming academic year. This helps students a lot in making a preparation strategy. Last time, NTA had released the exam schedule with the tentative dates of JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET UG and PG exams for 2024. The dates of these 2024 exams were announced on September 19, 2023. Candidates will be able to view the NTA exam schedule for 2025 by visiting nta.ac.in.
JEE Main is conducted in two stages for admission to undergraduate courses offered by National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other participating technical education institutes. NEET is for admission to undergraduate medical courses offered by all medical colleges in the country.
Let us tell you that JEE Main exam is conducted twice a year (in two sessions). There are two papers in JEE Main. Paper 1 grants admission to B.E./B.Tech. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses (B.E./B.Tech) in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other participating state government-recognized/funded institutes/universities. JEE Main exam is also a qualifying exam for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B.Arch and B. Planning courses in the country. When the result of JEE Main Session 2 is declared, the ranking of the students is released based on the best NTA score from both the sessions. Candidates securing first rank around 2,50,000 in JEE Main result are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced test. Admission to IITs is done through JEE Advanced.
Through NEET, admission is done in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and various other undergraduate medical courses in all medical colleges of the country.
CUET UG offers admission to undergraduate courses in over 280 universities including all the central universities of the country. Admission to postgraduate courses is through CUET PG. UGC NET is also conducted by NTA through which eligibility for becoming an Assistant Professor is opened, besides JRF, the way for PhD admission is also opened.
The NEET and UGC NET 2024 exams conducted by the NTA were mired in controversies. In such a situation, JEE Main, NEET and CUET 2025 will be the big exams of the agency.
