New Delhi: Shot Marlena or Atishi has been elected as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. The decision was taken during a meeting of the legislature party held at Arvind Kejriwal’s house in Delhi today. At the meeting, Kejriwal proposed Atishi’s name for the post.

Kejriwal is scheduled to resign from his post later today and will meet Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at 4.30 pm. Atishi Marlena will be the third woman to become Chief Minister of Delhi, after Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit. She will also be the second woman to currently hold the post of Chief Minister in India, after Mamata Banerjee.

According to his affidavit, his assets are valued at Rs 1.41 crore and there are no liabilities listed. The total gross value of his assets, as per his affidavit, is Rs 1,201,2824, while his total calculated assets are Rs 1,251,2823.

Below is the breakdown of assets:

– Cash: Rs 50,000 (for you) and Rs 15,000 (for your spouse), making a total of Rs 65,000.

– Deposits in banks, financial institutions and non-banking financial companies: Rs 1,00,87,323.

– NSS, Postal Savings Bank, etc.: Rs 18,60,500.

– LIC or other insurance policies: Rs 5,00,000.

Atishi’s educational background

Atishi’s academic background is impressive: he studied history at St. Stephen’s College, where he obtained a first place at the University of Delhi. He then completed a master’s degree at Oxford University on a Chevening scholarship and obtained a second master’s degree in Educational Research at Oxford on a Rhodes scholarship in 2006.

Before joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Atishi taught history and English at Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh. Atishi oversees 11 departments, the highest number held by any minister in the Delhi Cabinet, and is the only woman minister in the current cabinet.
