B.Tech seats vacant in JU, admission portal reopened

Kolkata: Seats for B.Tech course at Jadavpur University are still vacant. The university will start the counselling process for re-entry of seats. The portal has been reopened for B.Tech admission. Students can apply till September 20. According to JU sources, there are 150 vacant seats in B.Tech at present. This figure may increase when counselling starts. Because more students enrolled in B.Tech programme may leave the job. Jadavpur University will conduct independent counselling from September 24 to 27 to fill up 150 of its 1253 B.Tech seats that fell vacant after centralised counselling conducted by the state JEE board.

A notification issued by JU for general category candidates states that those with WBJEE-2923 GMR (General Merit Rank) within 10 thousand can participate in counselling. The Department of Higher Education has issued a notification allowing colleges and universities offering four-year B.Tech courses to admit students through independent counselling.
