Early trade in domestic markets declines, Sensex-Nifty falls as many points

Sensex and Nifty: Domestic stock markets fell in early trade on Wednesday. NSE Nifty fell 37.75 points to 25,380.80.

The 30-share BSE Sensex index fell 130.24 points to 82,949.42, while the NSE Nifty fell 37.75 points to 25,380.80.

Among the 30 companies listed on Sensex, shares of Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Asian Paints and Sun Pharma were the top losers. Shares of Bajaj Finance, ITC, Bajaj Finserv and HDFC Bank rose.

In Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite posted losses and Japan’s Nikkei-225 made gains.

US markets closed with mixed sentiment on Tuesday.

Brent crude, the international standard, fell 0.46 percent to $73.36 a barrel.

According to stock exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were in the mix on Tuesday, purchasing shares worth a net Rs 482.69 crore.
