The people present at the programme were given the oath of cleanliness and the message of cleanliness was given by clearing the garbage in Rambandh Pond through Shramdan. The Minister said that from September 17 this campaign will continue till October 2, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. He said that the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign is being celebrated every year since 2017. This will change the mindset of people regarding cleanliness and people will collectively play their role in keeping their areas and villages clean. He said that this year is also the 10th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural). He said that during this period, various types of programmes on the theme of nature, cleanliness and sanskar cleanliness will also be organised. For this, apart from organising street cleaning and awareness programmes, Safai Mitra safety camps will also be organised. In this, the health of the Safai Mitras will be checked. He said that nowadays, cleanliness needs to be thought about at both individual and community level. On an average, a family saves up to Rs 50,000 by adopting hygiene habits.
