One customer reportedly travelled from Ahmedabad and waited for over 21 hours to buy the new iPhone. “I have been standing in line for the last 21 hours. I have been here since 11am yesterday and I will be the first to enter the store today at 8am. I am very excited… The mood in Mumbai for this phone is absolutely electric… Last year, I was standing in line for 17 hours,” he said.

The capital also witnessed long queues outside the Apple store at Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi.

According to Tarun Pathak, research director at Counterpoint, there is a strong demand for pre-orders for the base model of the iPhone 16 compared to last year. With attractive financing options, “the new 16 series is all set to break previous records.”
