Bank Holiday: Will banks be open on September 21, 2024?
Banks in India are available to provide services on the first, third and fifth Saturday (if applicable) of the month. However, this is dependent on any specific holidays or closures. Therefore, customers should note that banks will be operational on the first, third and fifth Saturday (if applicable) unless there is a designated holiday.
The RBI designates certain holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays and Closing of Accounts by Banks.
As this Saturday, September 21st is the third Saturday of the month, banks will be open.
Digital banking
Banking transactions cannot be conducted on certain holidays and physical banking services are not offered. However, customers can use online banking, SMS banking and WhatsApp banking to conduct financial and non-financial activities.
Public holidays in September 2024
Banks will remain closed for 15 days in September, according to the state.
