India won the Asian Hockey Championship title

India has won the title of the Asian Hockey Championship. In the final match, the reigning champions India won the title for the fifth time by defeating the hosts China by 1-0. Jugraj Singh scored a brilliant goal for India in the last quarter. India managed to win all their matches in this tournament. In this competition, China won the silver medal and Pakistan won the bronze medal by defeating South Korea.

The first LCA Tejas MK-1A aircraft will join the Air Force next month.

The software trials of the Tejas MK-1A Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) have been completed. Now, after the final trials, the way has been cleared for the Indian Air Force to get the first Tejas MK-1A by the end of October. The first Tejas aircraft will be delivered with Category B engines. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during his recent visit to Washington, raised the issue of delay in the supply of the engine to be used in the Tejas MK-1A. Following the agreement, the engine manufacturing company revised the schedule, according to which India will start receiving new General Electric F-404 engines from November. Following the contract with the Indian Air Force in February 2021, the new aircraft was to be delivered to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited from March this year. The software change was demanded by the Air Force itself, due to which the delivery of the aircraft has been delayed by at least four months.

Atishi to be the new Chief Minister of Delhi

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Delhi Chief Minister on September 17, and along with this, the newly elected leader of the AAP legislature party, Atishi, claimed the formation of the Delhi government. At the legislature party meeting, Arvind Kejriwal himself proposed Atishi’s name. Atishi will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai informed the media about this. Atishi will continue to be the Chief Minister of Delhi till the assembly elections. Atishi became the Education Minister for the first time in the Kejriwal government in the year 2023.

RINL wins the title of National Energy Leader for the sixth time

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has been awarded the prestigious National Energy Leader Award by the Confederation of Indian Industry-Green Business Centre (CII-GBC). The Ministry of Steel said in its statement that RINL, the corporate unit of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has been awarded the prestigious CII-GBC National Energy Leader Award for the sixth consecutive year. This award has been conferred by the Confederation of Indian Industry-Green Business Centre.

The central government changed the name of Port Blair to Vijaypuram

The central government has decided to rename Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as Sri Vijayapuram. This decision is inspired by the erstwhile Sri Vijay Empire. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information through a post on X.

The Navy fired a vertically launched short-range surface-to-air missile from the ITR range.

On September 12, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) fired a missile from an Indian Navy warship, which can destroy any enemy air attack. The Vertical Launched Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM), fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur off the coast of Odisha, is yet to be named but is planned to be inducted on warships instead of the Barak-1. This missile weighs 154 kg. It has been jointly made by DRDO and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The missile is about 12.6 feet long and its diameter is 7.0 inches.

MP becomes the first state to provide AYUSH services in primary health centres in urban areas

Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to provide AYUSH facilities in all 328 primary health centres in urban areas. At the same time, out of 1,440 primary health centres in rural areas, AYUSH facilities are available in 695 and these facilities are also being expanded in the remaining health centres. Madhya Pradesh ranks third in the country with availability of AYUSH doctors in 228 primary and community health centres in tribal areas. Odisha ranks first with 296 and Chhattisgarh ranks second with 279.

PM e-drive scheme approved

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for implementation of the ‘PM Electric Drive Revolution Programme on Upgrading Innovative Vehicles (PM e-Drive)’ to promote electric vehicles in India. The Central Government has allocated Rs 10,900 crore for a period of 2 years under the PM e-Drive programme, under which subsidies will be provided to 24.79 lakh electric two-wheelers, 3.16 lakh three-wheelers and 14,028 electric buses.

Neeraj Chopra won silver in javelin throw at Diamond League

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the Diamond League silver medal. In Brussels, the capital of Belgium, Neeraj threw 87.86 metres, which was his best throw and missed out on winning the gold by just 1 centimetre. The gold medal of the competition was won by Paris Olympic bronze medallist Anderson Peters. Germany’s Julian Weber finished third. This is the second time in a row that Neeraj has finished runner-up in the Diamond League.

Badminton player Anmol Kharb won her first senior international title by winning the women’s singles match at the Belgium International 2024 in Leuven. The first competition in Santosh Kashyap’s coaching – the South Asian Football Confederation Women’s Championship will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from October 17 to 30.

Joint Commemorative Postage Stamp Released Between India and Romania

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar released the joint commemorative postage stamp between India and Romania along with Romanian Ambassador to India Daniela Mariana Sezonov in New Delhi. Jaishankar said in a social media post that Romania is completing 75 years of diplomatic relations and this postage stamp is a symbol of the deep ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
