The traffic jam in Dhanbad cleared after 27 hours and there was a 12-kilometre long queue of vehicles.

Jharkhand, Dhanbad News: Following instructions from Mamata Banerjee, the goods vehicle jam at Chirkunda in Dhanbad was cleared on Friday evening. The jam was cleared only after 27 hours and movement of vehicles could start. Due to the ban on entry of goods transporters into Bengal, a critical situation had developed in the areas adjacent to Bengal of Dhanbad and Bokaro. There was a 12-km long queue of vehicles on the GT road from Dibudih check post adjacent to Maithon to Nirsa. At the same time, due to the closure of Birkham and Barmasia border adjacent to Chandankiyari of Bokaro by the Bengal government, there was a three to four-km long traffic jam on the Chandankiyari-Raghunathpur road.

His supporters, along with Arup Chatterjee, had blocked the river near Barakar.

There was a long queue of hundreds of goods vehicles at Barmasiya on Purulia-Chandankiyari NH 218. On the other hand, due to the closure of Mirdha check post at Pindrajora, there was chaos for five kilometres. Meanwhile, supporters of former CPI(ML) MLA Arup Chatterjee blocked the river near Barakar. Due to this, long queues of small and large vehicles formed in Bengal too. From this Bengal Jharkhand Vehicles travelling in the opposite direction were severely affected. Thousands of freight trucks were parked on both sides of the border.

BJP MLA from Kulti Ajay Poddar also reached the Dibudih check post.

On Friday at 11:25 am, BJP MLA from Kulti Ajay Poddar along with his supporters reached Dibudih check post and sought a written order to seal the border from the police and traffic officials present there. But no officer could show the order. He said that the border has been sealed on the instructions of senior officials. BJP MLA from Nirsa Aparna Sengupta contacted Maithon OP and got information about the check post from BDO Madhu Kumari and OP in-charge Akrushta Aman present there. Let us tell you that after the release of a large quantity of water from Maithon and Panchet dams of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), due to flood situation in many districts of West Bengal, the Bengal government has taken the decision to seal the border.

Raw materials began to spoil and many livestock died:

Due to the halt in vehicles, truck drivers transporting various kinds of goods from different states of the country to other states, including Bengal, were facing problems. Most of the trucks were loaded with raw material, which was on the verge of spoiling. Not only this, cattle loaded in vehicles also started dying. More than half a dozen Khasis died in Maithon, who were thrown into the nearby forest by truck drivers. The truck drivers were also facing a food crisis. Despite having money, nothing was coming.
