Apple’s iPhone 16 series goes on sale in India starting today; endless queues outside the store, some waiting for 21 hours | Technology News

New Delhi: Apple has started selling its iPhone 16 series from today (September 20), and the long queues forming outside Apple stores have caught the attention of social media. Just like last year, Apple enthusiasts have been waiting in long queues outside the Apple store in Saket, Delhi, and the flagship store in BKC, Mumbai.

Customer Akshay said, “I came at 6 am. I bought the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I liked iOS 18 and the camera zoom quality is better now. I came from Surat,” news agency ANI reported.

Another customer, Ujjwal Shah, said, “I have been standing in queue for the last 21 hours. I have been here since 11am yesterday and I will be the first to enter the store today at 8am. I am very excited today… The mood in Mumbai for this phone is absolutely new… Last year, I was standing in queue for 17 hours.”

The company plans to first start assembling the iPhone Pro series in India, but those models will go on sale at a later date, sources cited by PTI said.

“The full iPhone 16 lineup will be available across the country tomorrow,” an Apple India spokesperson said. However, the company did not offer any comment on the availability of the iPhone Pro series assembled in India.

This is the first time the company has sold the iPhone Pro series at a lower price than the previous version, mainly due to the cut in import duties in the recent budget.
