Jharkhand govt orders internet shutdown in all 24 districts ahead of JSSC CGL exam

Internet Down|JSSC CGL Exam|Jharkhand News: Just before the JSSC CGL exam to be conducted by the Jharkhand State Service Commission, the Jharkhand government has issued an order. The internet service will be disrupted for 2 days in all the 24 districts of Jharkhand. Yes. You read it right. The internet service will remain disrupted throughout Jharkhand during the JSSC CGL exam.

Jharkhand Combined General Graduate Level Competitive Examination 2023 is being organized by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission on 21st and 22nd September in all 24 districts of Jharkhand. More than 6,40,000 candidates are expected to appear in the examination. 823 examination centres have been established for this purpose.

In the order issued by the Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Jharkhand on the evening of September 20, it is said that with an aim to conduct the examination in a free, fair and transparent manner, the government has disturbed the internet service during the JSSC CGL examination. It has been decided to do so, so that meritorious students do not have to become victims of fraud by some fraudulent persons.

It has also been said in this order that it has been observed that some undesirable elements are carrying out illicit activities through mobile applications like Facebook, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), Telegram and YouTube. All these things operate through the Internet or Wi-Fi. Therefore, the government has issued an order to stop the Internet service from 8 am to 1:30 pm during the examination period.
