Concerns about his bowling performance have persisted for a long time. After an injury in 2022, the player needed more than a year to return to competitive cricket. Since his return, he has performed brilliantly across all formats. On Friday, September 20, Bumrah picked up four wickets and led India’s bowling attack against Bangladesh’s batting order. “I don’t know how to react to that, but when I was a kid, I used to do it. I was a fan of fast bowling. I learnt how to do it by watching TV. I fell in love with the sport because of that. Now, sometimes when I see kids trying to copy my way of acting, I don’t recommend it. But, you know, sometimes it’s like that. You get inspired by something and try to find your own way. I’m very happy to create an impact whenever I can,” Jasprit Bumrah told the announcer of the ongoing India-Bangladesh Test series.

On the second day, India once again proved their dominance over Bangladesh. Bumrah picked up four wickets, while Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each. They bowled out the opposition for just 149 runs. Though Bangladesh’s bowlers managed to dismiss Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli at the start of India’s second innings, the team had already established a solid lead. By the end of the day, the home side had a lead of 308 runs.
