Sumit Nagal will participate in the World Tennis League

Tennis: India’s top tennis player Sumit Nagal will take part in the upcoming World Tennis League (WTL) which will see a host of global stars play like world number five Daniil Medvedev, number six Andrey Rublev and women’s champion of the US Open, Aryna Sabalenka.

Organizers announced it on Friday. The league will be played at the prestigious Etihad Arena from December 19 to 22. However, Nagal, who is ranked 83rd in the men’s world rankings, has not yet decided which team he will play for in the league.

The WTL will feature two Olympic gold medalists, five Grand Slam champions, six of the top 12 male players in the world and six of the top ten female players. Among them is also the name of the world number one and French Open champion, Iga Swiatek. Reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Kresikova and Paris Olympic women’s doubles gold medalist Jasmine Paolini will also make their debuts.
