Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that devotees who visited the Lord Venkateswara temple situated in the Tirumala hills expressed their satisfaction over the quality of ‘Laddu Prasadam’.
After inaugurating the Vakulamath centralized kitchen set up by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in Tirumala hills, Naidu told reporters that apart from setting up laboratories to check the quality of ingredients used for making laddu prasadam, if the need arises, TTD can also refer to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati for suggestions regarding the entire process in Tirumala.
The Chief Minister’s comments come at a time when he and the TTD executive officer had recently alleged the use of adulterated ghee for preparing Laddu Prasadam during the previous Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) Congress government. However, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy rejected this allegation.
He said, “Many people expressed happiness and said that they are satisfied with the quality of Prasad laddus. We have seen several incidents during the previous government, when people expressed their discontent over the quality of laddus in Tirumala hills…”
An official statement from the temple administration said that Naidu held a review meeting with senior officials of TTD, temple administrator Venkateshwara Swamy, and also asked them to ensure that only the best quality ingredients were used to prepare the prasad. Go.
The Chief Minister suggested to Endowments Minister Anam Rama Narayana Reddy that not only TTD but all temples should take the opinion of devotees in all matters.
Naidu said that on Tirumala hill no words other than “Govinda Namam” should be heard.
Naidu spent the night here on Friday and offered ‘pattu vastralu’ (silk robes) to Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the state government on the first day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavam.
The Chief Minister also released the schedule and diary of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for 2025.
