In an effort to better understand the daily challenges delivery agents face, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and his wife, Grecia Muñoz, spent a day working as delivery agents in Gurugram, where the company is headquartered.

Goyal took instagram to share his experience, posting photos of him and his wife wearing Zomato uniforms while delivering food around the city.

In the photos, the couple can be seen riding bicycles, interacting with customers and using a mobile phone to navigate the city.

“I went out to deliver orders a couple of days ago, teaming up with Grecia Muñoz,” Goyal wrote on Instagram, tagging his wife, who recently changed her name to Gia Goyal.

Internet users’ reaction

While it was the billionaire’s first time delivering food with his wife, many online praised Goyal’s decision for its hands-on approach, while others hoped the experience would draw attention to the challenges real delivery agents face.

“I hope you can see the pain of the delivery people and that you solve their problems and make their lives easier,” wrote one user.

“Wow! This is amazing.” Some, however, saw it as a marketing move, with one commenting: “Nice marketing,” another wrote.

“Should have done it at the Aston,” said a third.

“Driving gasoline vehicles, how can you be a “zero carbon” company? Also, most of your orders are wrapped in plastic, even the second to last image in this post, so how are you “zero plastic”, kuch bhi likhna hai toh likhdo “hum? chor dalle hai “I mean it will make more sense…” a fourth expressed.
