‘This is a bad omen…’ People are discouraged, said Siddharth Kumar Tiwari while making ‘Mahabharat’

Siddharth Kumar Tiwari: Star Plus show ‘Mahabharat’ has received a lot of love from the audience. Recently ‘Mahabharat’ turned 10 years old and the cast and crew celebrated the occasion together at a hotel in Mumbai. Additionally, the pilot episode of ‘Mahabharata’ was released, giving a glimpse into the initial phase of this masterpiece.

Speaking exclusively to IANS on the occasion, producer Siddharth Kumar Tiwari explained how he conceived the idea and brought it to life. He also shared how people discouraged him from doing the show. Siddharth said, “When people came to know that I was doing Mahabharata, they dissuaded me from doing it.” He said, “People told me why are you doing Mahabharata? This is a bad omen.”

He said that when a producer-director works on a big story and it doesn’t work, it creates apprehension in the minds of other producers. When asked if he was referring to Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat, which was not a hit, Siddharth replied, “Absolutely.” He added: “I was very new as a producer at the time. I didn’t know how to make a show.” This genre. It takes a lot of experience to do something like ‘Mahabharat’, but when experienced people fail, it affects others too.”

“This is just one aspect,” he said. During this process, we faced many challenges. The work was delayed several times for various reasons. I cast the actors 2 or 3 years before the show was produced. What propelled me forward was my belief that this story needed to be told in current times. “It is extremely relevant to society at all levels.” He further added, “Mahabharata is not just entertainment. There is a sensible message hidden behind it and that is why I wanted to bring it to the screen.”
