Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday said NEP-led transformations were underway in India’s education system and its critical role was to transform our young demographic into responsible, future-ready global citizens. future. “The NEP has been four years old. It is a philosophical document that must be produced, to create globally responsible citizens, because India is a country with an urban population and within three decades that demographic dividend will be with India. For me, the focus main objective of NEP 2020, is to create a vision and build confidence among students and also develop competencies because competency is more important than degree and certificate,” he said.
The Education Minister said that in the next two decades, India will be the growth engine of the global economy.
“The NEP-led transformations taking place in India’s education system and its pivotal role in transforming our young demographic into responsible and future-ready global citizens. In the next two decades, India will be the driving force of growth of the global economy. Priority areas of the NEP “Integrating technology in education, promoting learning in Indian languages, fostering a culture of research and innovation and boosting employability competencies and skills place India well positioned to reap its demographic dividend. “Another focus of NEP is research into global standards. Linking up with institutions, linking up with new areas, linking up with governments,” Pradhan added.
Pradhan said all young people should have the opportunity to receive an equitable education.
“We have to give opportunities to all our youth, equitable education, inclusive education, affordable education and quality education. We are inviting foreign universities in India to open their campuses in India. A significant number of Indian students are going abroad.
