Xiaomi has revealed the Redmi A4 5GIndia’s first smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip, underway Indian Mobile Congress (BMI). With this launch, 5G technology becomes affordable for the masses with the Redmi A4 5G priced under Rs 10,000.
Powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, this smartphone aims to deliver optimized power efficiency, faster connectivity, and a better user experience. It is expected to accelerate India’s transition to 5G, offering most users smoother streaming, better gaming, and maximizing overall performance on a budget.
Commenting on this announcement, Muralikrishnan B, President, Xiaomi India, “Redmi A4 5G marks an important milestone in our ongoing mission to bring advanced technology to every Indian. Designed exclusively for the Indian market, it embodies our vision of ‘5G for all’, bridging the digital divide. “With this device, we aim to accelerate India’s shift towards 5G, offering an enhanced entry-level smartphone experience.”
Qualcomm Technologies, in collaboration with Xiaomi, had earlier announced that it was working with the smartphone maker to bring 5G technology to even the most remote regions of India. “Access to 5G will be a key enabler for Viksit Bharat,” said Savi Soin, senior vice president and president, Qualcomm India. He added that without affordable devices, digital inclusion would remain a dream. I was quite excited about the idea of joining forces with Xiaomi to bring affordable 5G smartphones to more users.
Powered by Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, the Redmi A4 5G will offer an unparalleled customer experience with improvements in CPU performance, multitasking, AI-powered audio enhancements, and optimized capabilities for entertainment.
The Redmi A4 5G will soon hit the shelves at an affordable price of under Rs 10,000 in India.
