The body of a girl was found on Wednesday in Krishnanagar in West Bengal’s Nadia district. The girl was allegedly raped and murdered. The police gave this information. Police said that based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s parents, a person, said to be the girl’s fiancé, was arrested.
The complaint alleges that the girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered.
Body of girl found in field near Durga Puja pandal
Police said the girl’s body was found in a field near Durga Puja pandal in Ashrampura area. The girl’s face was burned with acid and her clothes were also torn. Police said the body was sent for an autopsy.
The family demanded that the autopsy be filmed in the presence of a magistrate and that the autopsy be conducted by specialist doctors of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani.
Girl murdered after rape – mother of the deceased
The girl’s mother claimed that her daughter had gone out with her fiancé on Tuesday night, but did not return home. He said that even after questioning the person over the phone, no trace of him could be found.
Following the incident, tension spread in the area and the opposition Congress and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) protested outside the Kotwali police station and alleged that the girl was raped and murdered. Both sides also demanded that the autopsy be conducted in the presence of a magistrate.
