But today CM Sai has given a big gift to all his employees.

The government has announced a 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) of central employees, so their total dearness allowance will now increase from 50 per cent to 53 per cent. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav briefed on the decisions taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier in March, the government had increased DA and DR by four percentage points till 50 per cent from January 1, 2024. The minister said the DA increase is based on the 12-month average of the All India Consumer Price Index-Industrial Workers. He said the increase in DA and DR will put an additional burden of Rs 9,448 crore on the exchequer.
