Jagannath temple in Puri restricts entry of devotees from October 18 for the month of Kartik

Anticipating that a large number of devotees will visit the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, the temple administration has announced new entry restrictions to the 12th century shrine, starting October 18, after which devotees will be allowed to enter to the temple only through Singhadwara (Lion Gate). ) and Western Gate.

Currently, visitors can access the temple through the four gates, but following the new order, the other three gates will be designated for exit only, with the exception of the Lion Gate.

These restrictions will not affect temple staff or their families. The temple administration has urged devotees to comply with the new guidelines to facilitate a smooth and orderly darshan experience.

This year, the state government plans to house 2,500 habisyalis (seniors who observe Brata) in five designated buildings, with funds already allocated to the district administration.

Meanwhile, the police have made major preparations for the month of Kartik. A total of 20 platoons (each platoon will consist of 30 people) will be stationed in the city throughout the month.
