‘The richer have better food’: wedding guests upset by class division at reception dinner

A wedding guest was left shocked after attending a family friend’s wedding where guests were treated differently depending on their “wealth.” The anonymous Reddit user shared his experience on the @r/weddingshaming page. The user explained that the groom is from an “extremely rich family that paid for the wedding.” However, the groom only accepted the money and the family did not participate in the wedding preparations. Delving into the bad arrangements, the guest revealed that after the wedding ceremony, they attended the “cocktail hour under a scorching sun, with an open bar and a bartender for about 150 guests. “Not a single hors d’oeuvre is passed.”
But the shocking part is yet to come. Speaking of the dinner arrangements, the guest wrote: “We then entered a large plastic tent where dinner will be held in the heat of summer, around 3pm, when the sun is still burning. With only one door for ventilation”.

As for the food, the guest shared that “it was supposed to be a 7-course meal, but one of the dishes was lost.” For the main course, the guest ordered a steak and “it was 4 slices of steak for 8 people. Two bottles of wine were left on each table and there was no bar during dinner, which was fine.”
However, the guests They were insulted when they realized that the “very wealthy” wedding guests had been given “much more and bottles of high quality wine, scotch, tequila. And much more food.”
