Pollution level is getting worse every day in Delhi, AQI of 13 hotspots is alarming… Which areas are included?

Delhi Air Pollution: This time, even before the arrival of winter and Diwali, the air has become poisonous in Delhi. As in the last few years, once again the crisis is starting to threaten the lives of Delhiites. Pollution in the capital has already reached the ‘poor’ category and the AQI is likely to rise rapidly in the coming times. Especially alarming is the level of contamination in 13 areas.

There was a layer of fog in Delhi on Saturday (October 19) morning. The city’s air quality remained in the “poor” category. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the 24-hour AQI in Delhi was recorded at 273 at 9 am.

The AQI exceeds 300 in these areas

At the same time, the situation seemed quite bad in some areas of Delhi. In many places, the AQI was recorded above 300, which would have been in the “very poor” category. According to the data, ICA was recorded at 366 in Mundka and Bawana, 355 in Wazirpur, 347 in Jahangirpuri and 333 in Anand Vihar.

13 critical points identified

At the same time, there are 13 areas of Delhi that have increased tension. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Friday (Oct 18) that the government has identified 13 places with “very poor” AQI in the city. Sources of contamination have also been identified in these areas. Coordination committees have been formed here to reduce the level of pollution.

Gopal Rai said the entire Delhi breathes “bad” air, but the air quality is “very poor” in 13 hotspots, where the AQI has crossed 300. These include Narela, Bawana, Mundka, Wazirpur, Rohini, RK Puram , Okhla, Jahangirpuri, Anand Vihar, Punjabi Bagh, Mayapuri and Dwarka Sector-8.

Gopal Rai gave these instructions

A statement said that in the meeting, Gopal Rai directed the officials to strictly follow all guidelines related to pollution. He said the committees will be headed by the deputy commissioner of the Delhi Municipal Corporation. DPCC engineers have also been deployed at all ‘hotspots’ and will submit daily reports to the ‘Pollution War Room’.
