PM Modi will launch many projects from Varanasi today

PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday launch several development projects worth over Rs 6,100 crore across the country from his Varanasi parliamentary constituency.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Modi will also inaugurate the RJ Shankar Eye Hospital in Varanasi.

Chief Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri will lay the foundation stone for runway expansion, construction of a new terminal building and associated works at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, the cost of which is estimated to be around Rs 2,870 crore, he said.

The statement said that the Prime Minister will also pay tribute to the airports of Agra Airport, which will be built at a cost of over Rs 570 million, Darbhanga Airport, which will be built at a cost of approximately Rs 910 million, and Bagdogra airport, which will be built at a cost of approximately Rs 910 crore. The cost of approximately Rs 1,550 crore will also lay the foundation stone of the new civil enclave.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal buildings at Rewa, Ambikapur and Saharanpur airports, which are being constructed at a cost of over Rs 220 crore. With this, the combined passenger capacity of these airports will exceed 2.3 crore annually.

The designs of these airports are influenced by common elements of the heritage structures of the region and have been emulated in the design, the statement said.

Among other projects, Modi will inaugurate phases two and three of the redevelopment of the Varanasi sports complex at a cost of over Rs 210 crore under the ‘Khelo India’ scheme and the Smart City Mission.

The project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art sports complex, which will include a National Center of Excellence, a players’ lodge, a sports science centre, practice fields for various sports and indoor shooting ranges.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will also inaugurate a 100-bed hostel and public pavilion for girls and boys at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Stadium in Lalpur. He will inaugurate tourism development projects in areas related to Buddhism in Sarnath.

Modi will also inaugurate projects such as tourism development works at Banasur Temple and Gurudham Temple and beautification and redevelopment of parks, the statement said.

Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Varanasi on Sunday, more than 500 hoardings were put up in his parliamentary constituency. A hoarding put up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Yuva Morcha, shows him (Prime Minister Modi) with 10 hands holding different slogans like ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’ and ‘Make in India’. .

There is a lot of discussion among people about these fences installed in Lanka, Chitaipur and Sarnath areas of the city.

BJP’s Kashi region president Dilip Patel on Saturday said workers, buoyed by the party’s victory in the Haryana Assembly elections and its excellent performance in Jammu and Kashmir, have made extensive preparations to welcome the Prime minister.

He said the people of Kashi will welcome the Prime Minister with drums and shower of flowers.
