A general instruction has been given to school principals and interested persons to consider some points while delivering lectures in schools. If there are weak and dilapidated buildings, such buildings cannot be used for conferences. In this regard, university directors should pay attention to the good condition of university buildings and take appropriate measures to avoid accidents, officials said.

As a precautionary measure, the lack of learning time caused by the holidays will be compensated with additional classes on Saturday afternoons or Sundays.

Parents and college administrators of students should ensure that students do not go to low-lying areas with water. They should guarantee the safety of vehicles used by students to go to universities. The district collector said students should be informed about how to deal with natural calamities in colleges.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rain in Bengaluru over the next two days.

According to the latest forecast issued on Sunday, the city will see generally cloudy skies with moderate rain and occasional heavy showers. Temperatures are expected to hover around a high of 26 degrees Celsius and a low of 20 degrees Celsius during this period.

The IMD also issued a yellow alert for 11 districts of Karnataka. Uttarakhand, Udupi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Chitradurga, Davangere and Tumakuru districts are under yellow alert till October 21 due to expected heavy rain.
