An NCC official said the cadets selected for Agniveer come from very ordinary families. He said the parents of two dozen cadets from Meenpura, Katra, Bochahan and Kudhni are farmers. Along with his studies, he obtained A, B and then ‘C’ certificate from NCC. He said that two cadets from Paru and Sakra, apart from studying and pursuing NCC, also ran their father’s grocery store. While running a grocery store, he had also prepared to join Agniveer.

The military official said more than 100 NCC cadets with ‘C’ certificate had joined the army recruitment. Of them, 70 were finally selected.
