BITS Design School (BITSDES) has opened admissions for the second cohort of its 4-year residential Bachelor of Design (Honours) program starting Monday 21 October 2024.

Applications are open at BITS Design School for the 4-year residential Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme.

The admission process will conclude on January 31, 2025.

In particular, the Bachelor of Design (Honours) program follows a human-centred design approach and offers five pathways: physical product design, digital product design (UX/UI), design research and insights, design of experiences and visual design.

A press release issued by the institution informed that applicants will be required to provide scores from NID-DAT Prelims, UCEED or BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT) to be selected for the course.

The BITSDAT test is scheduled between March 31 and April 5, 2025, while the test scores will be declared by April 14, 2025.

Subsequently, the portfolio evaluation round will be carried out between April 21 and 28, 2025, and the online interviews between May 2 and 12, 2025.

Nandita Abraham, dean of the BITS School of Design, highlighted that the institution seeks to build a diverse and talented cohort that can carry forward its design philosophy as a transdisciplinary effort.

“The strong industry connections and entrepreneurial culture that come from BITS Pilani’s legacy cultivated for more than 60 years will be instrumental in realizing our vision and shaping the careers of our students,” he said.

It may also be mentioned here that the advisory board of BITS School of Design has celebrated design leaders who have already helped it make a mark in the design space with industry engagements and collaborations.

Some of them include Don Norman’s tour in Bengaluru (in association with DesignUp), in Pune (with the Designers Association of India) and in Delhi (with Lopez Design).

Additionally, the school also organized the Care-Value-Place conference, curated by John Thackara at its Mumbai campus in collaboration with RMIT, Melbourne.

In addition, the school collaborates with Aalto University for curriculum design and annual review, as well as for free student exchanges.

BITS Design School is also a collaboration with Arizona State University intended to foster student and faculty exchange, programs and joint research projects.
