Shortage of engineers on railways will be eliminated

The Railway Board has opened the doors of Engineering Services Examination (ESE) in the Indian Railways in addition to the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) examination under the Civil Services Examination (CSE). . The Railway Board issued a gazette notification on October 9. This will eliminate the shortage of engineers (civil, electrical, mechanical, signal and telecom) in railways. The Railway Board had implemented IRMS instead of ESE since 2019. At that time it was stated that Indian Railways would have one cadre (IRMS) instead of eight cadres. The IRMS training will be done in such a way that it can do the work of all cadres. But from 2019 until now, there is a lack of 1,800 engineers in the railways. Due to this, the Railway Board had to withdraw its decision.
