The actress recently spoke to Hindustan Times at the Garnier Green Academy event in Singapore, reflecting on her journey in Bollywood and her love for music.

He has appeared in films such as Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002) and Samay: When Time Strikes (2003) as a child artist. As far as the OTT world is concerned, Barkha has consolidated its position through projects like Masaba Masaba season 2, The Great Munnes Weddings, you will find attached season 3 and Maja Ma.

“I have enjoyed doing many romantic comedies and many neighbor roles. Now I’m looking forward to more serious and darker roles. We have already made progress in that sense,” he tells us.

The actor adds: “My next releases are a big step away from what the public has seen me do so far. They’ve seen me in happier roles. Now you’ll see me in darker, dirtier roles. I’m excited about the roles. I personally feel like I’m better at it, but I just haven’t taken advantage of it. I’m really excited for the creators to see that side of me. So I will get more such roles (in the future).”

Taking the path of exploring different roles, Barkha emphasizes that she is not breaking away from the image that made her popular.

“I’m never going to leave… People have loved and accepted me for that, and I’m very grateful for that. But at the same time I am very greedy as an actor. “I think I’m better in serious roles than in romantic comedies,” says the actor.

In fact, she is glad that OTT has brought so many new opportunities, and “not just for the actors, but also for the viewers, directors, writers and producers.”

“It has given a lot of options to a lot of people. The OTT world has something for everyone. Everyone can find something they relate to. I love the web space. It is a great place to be,” mentions Barkha, who is proud to be a Garnier India icon and is determined to work towards bringing out ‘Green Beauty’, which is why she also attended the Garnier Green Academy in Singapore to understand the importance of sustainable skin care.

On being responsible when endorsing brands

In addition to her film work, Barkha is known for endorsing several brands, of which Garnier India is one of them.

“When you are so closely associated with a brand, you also get to know their products much more closely. You will also be able to understand how your products are developed. What is the reason for each range… It gives you a very deep knowledge of the different products,” he emphasizes, mentioning the reason why it is important to be responsible before associating with a brand.

According to Barkha, her relationship with Garnier has changed the way she views beauty. “I have always had a very simplistic and direct approach to beauty. It is more important to have healthy skin above all else… And being associated with Garnier strengthened this belief in me that skin health is above all else,” she concludes.
