Singapore: The number of Indian tourists in Singapore increased by 13 per cent in the first nine months of this calendar year 2024 and this figure reached 898,180.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has released these figures as preparations have begun for the year-end celebrations at Orchard Road, the world-famous hotel and shopping precinct.
Singapore receives the largest number of tourists from India, followed by Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia and China.
More than 10 lakh Indian tourists will visit Singapore in 2023, an STB spokesperson told PTI on the sidelines of an event organized by the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) to launch its year-end celebration programme. In the first nine months (January to September) of this year, Indian tourist arrivals increased by 13 per cent and this figure reached 898,180.
Meanwhile, industry observers emphasized Singapore’s focus on maintaining its international tourism market.
Singapore has become a major destination for Indian tourists during the New Year holidays.
