Delhi News: The body of a seven-year-old boy was found in an open drain in Mustafabad area of the national capital on Sunday. Police said the boy had gone missing from his home a few days ago. This incident was caught on a CCTV camera, which helped the police solve the case.
This incident occurred on October 23. Police said that on October 24, a resident of Chaman Park area in Indira Vihar lodged a complaint at Gokalpuri police station that his son had gone missing under mysterious circumstances. “A missing report was immediately lodged and teams were formed to search for the boy,” a senior police officer said.
He said the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area was examined. “The police team also informed the nearby police stations of Loni and Ghaziabad,” the officer said. In the CCTV footage, the boy is seen wandering around the area after leaving his house at 5.23pm on October 23.
He said CCTV footage installed near Shiv Vihar Tiraha, near Rajdhani Public School, Babu Nagar, Mustafabad, Delhi, was also examined on Sunday. The images show a child walking along the path falling into an open drain around 5:50 p.m. on October 23. The police team along with the child’s family arrived at the scene.
He said after the search, the boy’s body was pulled out of a six-foot-deep drain. Police said the body was sent to GTB Hospital for an autopsy.
