Google’s ‘Jarvis’ AI will soon be able to automate your web tasks – here’s what we know

Google is working on an innovative artificial intelligence assistant, Project Jarvis, which is supposed to make the web browsing experience more efficient for users. This AI could be much more phenomenal, designed to help users automate everyday online tasks, such as performing basic research queries, purchasing and booking airline tickets. According to the latest reports, Project Jarvis will be introduced in December, particularly to improve the user experience in browsers like google chrome. This will see users leave basic mundane tasks to Jarvis, thereby increasing efficiency in their day-to-day online interactions.

There is an AI behind Project Jarvis that takes screenshots of a user’s computer screen. Read the images to understand what to do. For example, let’s say you are looking for tickets for a flight. In that case, Jarvis will be able to understand which buttons to press and which fields to fill out and do it automatically. This function seeks to streamline those tasks that would normally involve many clicks (filling out forms over and over again), saving users time and effort.

This result is in line with Google’s continued efforts to expand its capabilities in AI, specifically its Gemini AI. The new version of Gemini will also be out in December and will show new language support and features built into different Google apps like Meet and Photos.

Interestingly, Google’s call comes just after Anthropic announced the launch of a similar feature for its Claude AI, which is now available in public beta. Anthropic’s version, however, goes further as it handles a wide range of standard software tools. In the future, as both companies push the boundaries of AI in everyday tasks, users can expect greater opportunity in everyday interactions with the digital world.
