Viral News: A post by a Redditor from Faridabad claiming to have found mushrooms in a Real Juice Tetra Pak has left internet users disgusted.
The viral post described how the man bought a Tetra Pak of Real Fruit Juice at a nearby supermarket. After drinking a little, he noticed the spout was getting clogged, so he shook the packet and poured the juice into a glass. To their surprise, an unusual contamination appeared in the juice.
Dabur, the brand behind Real Juice, responded to the post, reportedly dismissing the presence of fungus.
The post was titled: “Contamination found inside a sealed ‘Tetrapack’ of REAL FRUIT JUICE!”
The user detailed his experience and wrote: “I bought it a few days ago at the nearest DMART, opened it and drank half of it in a day or two. Suddenly, the spout choked, so I shook it well and then poured the juice into a glass, only to discover a strange contamination inside.”
“Still alive and well, thank you,” he emphasized.
He shared that he contacted Dabur via email to inform them of the situation. Dabur apologized for the inconvenience and reportedly ruled out the contamination as fungus, even though the package was sealed.
The user mentioned that Dabur agreed to investigate further if he returned the remaining juice. He also revealed that he would receive a free replacement.
“Food security in India is a joke,” he said. “It doesn’t target any brand specifically, but many use palm olein or titanium dioxide in foods and toothpaste.”
The post quickly gained attention, with users expressing anger and sharing similar experiences.
“I tried a small packet of Real fruit juice and it tasted terrible! I don’t know why they advertised it so much a few years ago,” one user wrote.
When asked about the expiration date, he replied: “It was to be used in January if it was not open. Once opened, it should be consumed within 5 days to prevent spoilage.”
“Twitter is your friend. File a lawsuit,” another user suggested, while a third added: “Forget the free replacement; you deserve compensation. Take this to consumer court!”
The Redditor also clarified in the comments that he does not plan to file a lawsuit.
