With the reopening of the food kiosk, the Mauryalok complex will regain its charm and with the increase in the number of visitors, the complex will remain lively. A delegation of traders led by Mauryalok Traders Welfare Committee Chairman Rajesh Kumar W held a meeting with Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar on Monday, during which it was agreed to reinstall the kiosks that were removed from the Mauryalok premises.
Was eliminated in 2017-18:
Earlier, 19 kiosks were built in the Mauryalok complex, of which 16 offered groceries and fast food. Three were owned by the district administration and housed shops like handicraft emporiums. But because the building fell in the setback area, 18 of these shops were demolished and removed in 2017-18 during the tenure of Municipal Commissioner Anupam Kumar Suman. Only one food kiosk is still standing on the court’s orders. There was a demand for reconstructing these kiosks in the Mauryalok complex for a long time, which has now been accepted.
The boom barrier will remain, the corporation will function on its own:
The traders of Mauryalok have been demanding for a long time that the barrier be removed and the parking fee be waived for entering the premises. He says that due to this, the footfall of customers in this complex has decreased. The equipment of the agency that has hired the collection of parking fees is old. Due to this, vehicles moving quickly cannot enter and a traffic jam is created, due to which the movement of people has started to decrease. The municipal commissioner rejected the demand to remove the barrier or cancel the parking fee and said that the contractor should be changed and he would undertake the work of parking fee himself.
Security guards will be deployed:
Earlier, Home Guard and Security personnel were deployed day and night at Mauryalok, which enhanced the security of the campus. But now, with their removal, incidents of theft have increased there. Accepting the demand of traders to redeploy security guards, the Municipal Corporation said that a tender for the same will be floated soon. Also, on complaint of wiring problems in the premises and water leakage at many places in the building, the Municipal Commissioner directed the Chief Engineer to find solutions. Rajesh W said that such announcements were made many times before, but no action was taken on the matter. This time, it is hoped that they will be completed soon and the issues will be resolved.
