NIT Patna graduate gets record Rs 20 crore annual package from tech giant
Getting a job in Google It is the dream of many engineering aspirants across the world. However, the tech giant has its own way of hiring talent. One such talent from Bihar is spotted by Google recruiters. Abhishek Kumar, a computer engineer from the small village of Jamu Khariya in Bihar’s Jamui district, has bagged a whopping annual package of Rs 20 crore from Google’s London office.
No, Abhishek is not an IIT graduate, if that’s what you’re thinking when you say “I work at Google.” He earned his degree in software engineering from the National Institute of Technology. NIT PatnaWell, the Google offer is not Abhishek’s first achievement. In 2022, he landed a Rs 1.08 crore job at Amazon. He worked at Amazon till March 2023 and then moved to the foreign exchange trading unit of a German investment firm.
Abhishek Kumar attributed his success to his family and his elder brother. His father, Indradev Yadav, is a lawyer at the Jamui Civil Court, while his mother, Manju Devi, is a homemaker. According to local reports, Abhishek and his family live in a rented house in Jhajha.
“Working at Google is a dream for many software engineers and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work on impactful projects,” Abhishek told reporters.
Abhishek attended Jhajha City School for grades 1 to 10 and Patna High School for grades 11 and 12. In 2018, he was admitted to NIT Patna. During his graduation years, Abhishek enrolled in Computer Science and developed an interest in coding.
