Abu Dhabi has once again consolidated its position as a global leader, being named the safest country in the world and the most liveable city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for 2024. This remarkable achievement marks the eighth consecutive year that the country United Arab Emirates The capital topped the safety index with 88.2 points, and also ranked highly in healthcare and education.

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index and Numbeo’s Safety Index praised Abu Dhabi for its exceptional performance across several criteria, including healthcare, education, infrastructure and cultural offering.

Abu Dhabi’s rise as a global destination is driven by its strategic vision, ambitious development plans and a strong focus on quality of life. Abu Dhabi reportedly had 3,323 healthcare facilities, including 67 hospitals, 1,136 health centres and 1,068 pharmacies, with a total of 12,922 licensed doctors as of the end of 2022. The city’s stunning architecture, world-class museums and luxurious amenities have transformed it into a cultural and economic hub. In addition, its commitment to sustainability and environmental initiatives have earned it international recognition.

Other Gulf cities have also performed well in the rankings, with Dubai ranking second in terms of liveability within the UAE and fifth in the world for safety.
