Burdwan/Panagarh, Mukesh Tiwari: Nine days after the murder of a tribal girl in Nandur under Burdwan police station area of West Bengal, the police have finally arrested the accused Ajay Tudu. On the night of August 14, Priyanka Hansda, a tribal girl who had gone to defecate at Jhapantala in Nandur village of Burdwan, was murdered by slitting her throat near her house. Various quarters, including tribal organisations from district to state, protested against the arrest of the accused. Finally, one person has been arrested in this incident.

District Superintendent of Police Amandeep gave this information to the media on Saturday. He said that the two fell in love after becoming friends on Facebook. The police have requested the court to remand the accused for 10 days. To arrest the accused, several teams of the district police went to other regions of the state and conducted raids. District Superintendent of Police Amandeep said that the accused will be produced before the Burdwan court today. Though the accused’s house is in West Medinipur, the police arrested him from Panskuda in East Medinipur.
The police have asked the court for a ten-day pre-trial detention.
SP said that during the preliminary interrogation the accused admitted his crime. An application will be filed before the court to take the accused into police custody for investigation. Then the process of reconstructing the incident will be started keeping the accused in the forefront. The former district superintendent of police of Burdwan said that our team solved the mystery of the murder case in just nine days.
